I like this movie, but there are so many "1v10" videos like "Force of Nature" that also have those types of fights, but they're so much more than just tank and spank or baiting because you're constantly safe from dying thanks to ISK. You're so well equipped for the engagements that you rarely have to overheat. If you can take on 3 ships, or f.e. take on a Thrasher in a Merlin, where you should be dead and you win while barely even taking any heat damage then it's like taking on a Rifter in a Vexor, isn't it? It's great if you get the fight, you probably have to do something more to win it, but it doesn't make for strong video footage. The point i'm trying to make is, it's absolutely fine with me if you're putting so much money behind you on the field, however what should follow that is you taking full advantage of it, you should put your ship to the absolute limit and not just straight up tank everything, eliminating DPS from the field untill people realise they can't break you so they leave.
I understand why this all seems epic and great and it definetly takes a good pilot to make it happen, but as much as the number of kills looks great, the footage doesn't. f.e. i'd take Prozacxx's "(-1)" over this anytime even if this video was 3x as long or whatever you think that makes a video good.
No offense.
On a completely unrelated note, your whole game plan seems to be metagaming people to death. You take a ship, you overtank it, plug in 2b worth of implants, bring a link alt, fit not enough tackle and go brawl people to death. A Thorax or a Deimos with just a scrambler facing a fleet should die in an instant and not kill anything, people know that, that's why they seemingly act stupid in some fights. However behind your T1 hull there's 3b worth of ISK and that's metagaming. Metagaming is part of this game and i understand it, baiting with a hull tanked Machariel can work and be entertaining, but if that's all you have for all the fights, then it makes for a poor video. There is footage of people not acting stupid, like the fight of your Moa versus a Drake and a Dramiel, these guys know what they're doing and you're absolutely hopeless, you tank fine because of the isk you put out there, but that's it.
Just my opinion.
Very interesting...... Now I would completely understand this rant if you were commenting on my "Burning EVE" series. However with Will's vids this makes no sense. These videos from Will are all about "outside" the box set-ups and a great pilot making them work.
Notice the deimos kites in many fights to seperate the enemy so that he can engage them. Or taking a t2 fit frig against a thrasher and vexor and noticing the vex has ab and t1 drones. These are not videos or fights in which people are stupid. This is a fight in which you are watching an amazing pilot show you how to do everything right.
For example, when I engage an enemy I will have 1) checked local in systems two jumps away in every direction 2) checked employment history on target, gives me age and relative guess at skill points. 3) Will have seen his ship with alt and check for t2 fit 4) Will check enemy killboard to see how many he will have for back-up especially for possible BO or cap hotdrops. 5) Many other things................
You are more than welcome to your opinion and I respect it and you, however you cannot deny Will's piloting ability. Yes Garmon is amazing and the Hydra boys for the most part are all great. I hope you can see the plus side to Will's vids as much as garmons.
Oh and FYI, Garmon doesnt state it but most of his fights in his videos have implants and t3 boosting alt too 8)
